We had the cutest little quilter in the shop today... One of our famous local pattern designers, Debbie Lofgren of Little Stitches (http://www.littlestitchespatterns.com/ ), was in the shop with her daughter Kim & granddaughter Payton… Little Payton is soooooo cute :) The bolts of fabric are taller than she is ;-)

Quilting Anniversary

 

Happy Anniversary, Happy Anniversary, Happy Anniversary to me!!! It was eleven years ago today, September 12, 2011 that I started quilting.... Oh it's such a looooooooooooooong story, but here is the condensed version... I first stepped into Fat Quarters Quilt Shop in the spring on 2000 and fell immediately in love with the shop :) I knew right then and there that I NEEDED to be a quilter, sew I

signed up for Beginning Quilting with Susan!!! And found out that there was a waiting list about 18 months long... Susan still teaches beginning quilting at Fat Quarters Quilt Shop & I have now owned this magical place for four and a half years... How time flies...

Comfort & Joy Quilt Along Block {Five & SIX}

PLEASE forgive me!
the summer has gotten the best of me and i CAN NOT believe
that i have neglected to post these blocks!

i did post this one, although i wasn't happy with the picture, so why not. post it again!


here's my version of the gingerbread men...
the original quilt (as seen on the back of the pattern)
is on display at the shop and the kits will resemble that version.

and here is the most recent block {our #6}
not much different. i just altered the vine a bit, adding holly leaves and a black bird.

again, please forgive me.
the brain just doesn't work as well as it used to!

Comfort & Joy Quilt Along Block {Four}

here's this months version of the 

comfort & joy quilt

i made changes to the stocking by adding a couple 

candy canes {of few of my favorite things} and holly leaves.

i did use the paper piecing method to make the 6" star 

and i really like the way it turned out. paper piecing is {FUN} try it!!!
